Letter #1

Mr. and Mrs. Rob Quincy of Selah, Washington write:

After purchasing two acres of land in January 1998, we set out on a journey to find someone to build a house for us. We researched a list of twenty contractors and reduced it to four. After interviewing each and recieving cost breakdowns, we decided to have Fickel & Son Construction build our home. Jim Fickel immediately began working out details and time lines. Jim is a motivated person whose initiative to get the job done right was apparent throughout construction.

Jim met multiple times with us and our architect to finalize plans. In February 1999, we had the pleasure of watching Fickel & Son Construction break ground for our new home. Throughout construction, we were on the site continually, yet Jim never complained. He would stay to explain the day's events, sometimes as late as 6:00pm. When unforseen issues came up, he made it clear that it was our home and that our voice was important.

We chose to take our construction loan through Washington Mutual. Jim never complained about having to work through their main office in Wenatchee. Any change orders were agreed to in detail, quality, and price, so there were no financial suprises. All questions about financial details were answered promptly and accurately.

When we moved in at the end of June 1999, Jim made it clear that he would immediately solve any problems with the home. He would also contact us for a detailed inspection after one year. During that first year, we had few problems with the home. When these did occur, Jim promptly dealt with them. In June 2000, Jim once again detailed the house, caulking the minimal cracks which formed over the year, repairing a few nail pops, and even fixing damage from a couple of our own accidents.

Working with Fickel & Son Construction has been an enjoyable experience. We highly recommend Jim Fickel as your builder. We offer our home, for your viewing, as evidence of his craftsmanship.

Sincerely, Rob & Jackie Quincy
